What is it? Food Freedom Day is the calendar date when most Ontarians have officially earned enough money in the new year to pay for their food for entire year. If that sounds kind of crazy, well…that is because it is! According to the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, we (on average) only spend about 10% of our income on food. Compared to the rest of the world, this is ridiculously low. Are you interested in what other people around the world eat? The Hungry Planet Project is a photographic study of families around the world and focuses on what they eat in one week. If you are interested in the The Hungry Planet project you can find more pictures from this book here: http://www.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,1626519,00.html and here is a video that was inspired by the book: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osSpWbmEYF4 Think about what you eat tomorrow.
